NatWest launches free Carbon Planner to help businesses cut emissions
NatWest is addressing both the climate crisis and the cost-of-trading crisis with a digital Carbon Planner tool to help businesses cut their carbon footprints and their energy bills.
The free tool, which is available to all UK businesses including non-customers of the bank, provides users with personalised actions to take based on their data, enabling leaders looking to cut carbon emissions to make better-informed decisions.
The tool shows sustainability measures businesses could take, the potential savings generated by each measure, and how long it would take to earn a return on investment.
Business leaders who have signed up to the Carbon Planner tool are using it to create a transition action plan.
The launch of the tool follows a broader commitment by NatWest to lend £100 billion to businesses in Climate and Sustainable Funding and Financing by 2025. The bank’s latest published financial results show that its cumulative contribution to date is now £26.2 billion.
How does the Carbon Planner help businesses towards net zero?
The Carbon Planner guides users through four practical action steps:
- Inform – Identify current emission hotspots
- Diagnose – Identify the best actions to take
- Plan – Create a plan of action
- Deliver – Choose from practical options to deliver decarbonisation
